Riesling-Peach Glazed Ham is the most delectable glazed spiral ham recipe! It’s brushed with a mouthwatering homemade ham glaze made with a combination of sweet Riesling wine and peach preserves, with tangy ground mustard. This baked ham glaze was so good that I had to put the peach glaze on these meatballs too!

Ingredients in Riesling Peach Glazed Ham
- Bone-in half ham (fully cooked)
- Riesling wine
- Fresh thyme
- Shallot
- Peach preserves
- Light brown sugar
- Stone ground mustard
I highly recommend buying a spiral cut smoked ham. The smokey flavors really enhance the taste of this spiral ham recipe and work so well with the sweet and tangy Riesling peach glaze.
How to Make Riesling Peach Glaze
- Start by placing a medium saucepan on your stove. Add the Riesling wine, fresh thyme, and shallot to the saucepan and heat to boiling over medium-high heat.
- Reduce the heat and simmer until the Riesling has reduced by half. Remove the thyme sprigs with a slotted spoon or set of tongs and discard.
- Stir in the peach preserves, brown sugar, and ground mustard, then brush half of the glaze mixture on the ham before cooking. (You’ll add more glaze as the ham cooks.)
How to Cook Ham
- First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and line a roasting pan with foil.
- Next, place the ham on the rack in the roasting pan. Place an ovenproof meat thermometer in the thickest portion of the ham.
- Brush the ham with half of the Riesling peach glaze and bake it uncovered for an hour and a half, basting the spiral ham with more glaze every half hour.
- After the ham has baked for 90 minutes, loosely cover it with foil and bake it for another 30 minutes or until your meat thermometer reads 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Remove the ham from the oven, then let it rest for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Slice, serve, and enjoy!

CAn you make this with a spiral cut ham? Don’t think I can slice a bone in ham to look like yours
Aubrey Cota says
Absolutely!
Karen says
Hi there, Could you please tell me if the peach preserves are like a jam with chunkier bits of fruit or preserved peaches in a sugar syrup?
Aubrey Cota says
Yes, preserves are basically a chunkier form of jam.

What would be the ingredients measure for a 10 pound ham? And can I substitute apricot preserveitives for peach?
Julie Kotzbach says
Hi Jen! For a 10-pound ham, I’d add another 1/2 portion of each ingredient – so 1 1/2 cups wine, 3 sprigs thyme, 1 1/2 shallots, 27-ounces of preserves, 3/4 cup brown sugar and mustard. There may be some extra glaze, but you won’t run out. 🙂 And yes, peach would work for this recipe too.

Can this be made using a slow cooker?
Kay Marie says
I’m making this for Thanksgiving and the glaze tastes and smells wonderful. I have the ham in the oven now and the aroma has filled the entire house. I cannot wait to slice into it. Thank you for a great recipe.
Bre says
I need 1/2 CUP of ground mustard??
Julie @Real Housemoms says
Hi Bre. The recipe uses a 1/2 cup of stone-ground mustard. This is a prepared mustard, not the dried ground mustard you get in the spice aisle. The stone-ground mustard should be with the dijon and yellow mustards at the store and it has a grainy (dotted) look to it.

I made this ham for Christmas Eve dinner this year. It was SO yummy. I will definitely make it again and again. And maybe again. Thanks!

Hi there!
Has this recipe been tried in the slow cooker? I get home from work a bit late for something to be in the oven for an hour and a half. It looks like a great recipe! Thank you!! 🙂
