Tips for Success
- Any kind of apple juice will work in this recipe, so purchase the kind you enjoy the most.
- You can strain the juice into a pitcher through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth. This will make pouring the juice into a saucepan to reheat easier.
- You can make the spiced apple juice portion of the drink ahead of time. Once strained, store the juice in the fridge for up to 24 hours, and then reheat it when you are ready to serve.
What kind of rum do you put in apple cider?
There are a variety of rums to choose from; thankfully, they all taste wonderful when paired with apple juice! As you can probably guess, white or silver rum is the lightest rum, while dark and spiced rum has a richer flavor. Apple juice and rum are both on the sweet side, so putting them together in a drink makes delicious sense. So, what kind of rum do you put in a warm apple pie cocktail? Your favorite rum, of course! Go with what you have on hand, or pick up the rum you use most often. Feel free to experiment with all of the different rums on the market, including apple rum, for an extra apple kick!
Can I keep this in a crock pot for a party?
Double or triple the ingredients to make a Warm Apple Pie Cocktail for a crowd! Follow the recipe for making this drink on the stovetop. After 30 minutes of infusing, strain the apple juice and pour it into a crock pot. Add the rum and stir the drink. Set the crockpot to low and put out mugs, a spoon, and whipped cream for everyone to pour their drinks.
