HOW TO MAKE GRILLED CORN ON THE COB
STEP ONE: Start by preparing the ears of corn by peeling back the husks and removing the silk. Don’t sever the husks because you’ll wrap the corn back in them once the silk is removed.
STEP TWO: Place the ears of corn on a preheated grill and cook them for 15-20 minutes, rotating them every five minutes or so. The husks may begin to char and that is perfectly normal.
STEP THREE: The corn is done when the kernels are bright yellow. Remove the husks and serve with desired seasoning or corn toppings.
TIPS FOR SUCCESS
- Leaving the husks on the corn results in a great steam cook and also leaves a delightfully smoky flavor.
- You can store leftover corn in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
HOW TO TELL WHEN GRILLED CORN IS DONE
If you grill the ears of corn over medium heat, rotating every 5 minutes or so, then they should be fully cooked by the 20-minute mark. The husks may start to naturally pull back and the corn itself will become a more brilliant yellow. If you’re still unsure, simply poke one of the kernels and if the sweet juices run out, you know it’s ready.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO DRESS CORN
This Grilled Corn is good enough to eat right off the grill, but you can’t go wrong with a simple coating of butter and a sprinkle of salt to dress your cob. You may also try an elote seasoning or even cut the kernels off the cob and make a mouth-watering Mexican Street Corn side dish.
