I love a good CLASSIC COBB SALAD! They’re great for lunch, dinner and always popular at a potluck!
When I was young the two salads that I LOVED were cobb salad and chef salad. I loved them for all the meat and eggs and ranch dressing! I told you all how much I love ranch in my post for Homemade Ranch Dressing. As soon as I made that dressing I knew that I wanted to make a Classic Cobb Salad to pour it over!
I used thick cut bacon in this salad because I wanted ti to be really meaty. I wasn’t adding any other meat like chicken or steak so I wanted it to be more than just a crunchy topping. If all you have is standard bacon, by all means, use it. I’m a huge fan of using what you’ve got! I also put a lot of egg in this salad. I really love egg in salads so I tend to go heavy. I would say that a good rule of thumb though is one egg per person. That’s not too crazy, right?
I recently went on a girls’ weekend with friends from college. This is our second trip and we try to go once a year. It’s so much fun! This last time we had a little kitchen so we went shopping and decided to make some snacks. My friend, Jee, sliced the cherry tomatoes we got and sprinkled them with salt and pepper. Then we made sort of little salad wraps and they were great! Ever since then I’ve bee preseasoning my tomatoes before I put them in the salad and I LOVE it!
