First, pizza dip is SO easy you’ll never want to buy another frozen appetizer EVER. Only 5 minutes to assemble in ONE pan, then bake. That’s IT.
Second, Pizza Dip is incredibly versatile! This recipe calls for pepperoni and black olives, but other combinations like sausage & mushroom, chicken, bacon & ranch; or spinach, onion & feta would all be scrumptious!
Third, it’s gluten-free, low-carb, and keto-friendly!
Finally, it’s incredibly delicious. Ridiculously so. Like these popular Ham & Cheese Sliders, this appetizer dip disappears at every party because it’s SO SO good!
Other Recipes to Serve with Pizza Dip
- Pizza Dip needs dippers! These Easy Peasy Pizza Dough Breadsticks are the perfect accompaniment!
- Another excellent option for pepperoni dip is to serve it in a warm, flaky Homemade Bread Bowl!
Ingredients
Sauce: A jar of your favorite pizza sauce or marina is the perfect start to this dip!
Creamy: Cream cheese, sour cream, and mayo (yes, mayo!) blend to give this appetizer the perfect consistency for dipping
Cheese: What’s pizza without mozzarella? Add a little parmesan, and this dip is good to go!
Pizza Toppings: Pepperoni brings all the Italian goodness. A few black olives on the top make this dip richer and more flavorful.
How to Make Pizza Dip
STEP ONE: Preheat the oven to 350 F. Mix the softened cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, half of the mozzarella, and half of the parmesan in a mixing bowl.
STEP TWO: Transfer the sour cream mixture into a pie plate and spread it into an even layer. Spread the pizza sauce over the dip base.
STEP THREE: Top the dip with the remaining mozzarella, parmesan, mini pepperonis, and black olives. You can use as many pepperonis and olives as you like.
STEP FOUR: Bake for about 20 minutes or until the sides are bubbly and the cheese has melted and started to brown slightly. Remove the dip from the oven and serve with bread slices, chips, or veggies for dipping!
Tips for Success
- No marinara or pizza sauce on hand? No problem! Just blend any tomato sauce or canned tomatoes with Italian seasonings: oregano, basil, onion, garlic, etc.
- Gently microwaving the pepperoni on a paper towel until just hot will absorb a good amount of the natural grease that the sausage releases. This will make the dip less oily on top after baking.
- An extra sprinkle of Italian seasoning or some fresh basil on top gives it a burst of Italian flavor!
- Have some fun with the toppings. You can easily swap out for sausage and green bell pepper ham and pineapple, or your favorite pizza topping combo!
- Want to use up the leftovers? Try a spoonful of this dip inside your next omelet, or use this pizza dip to stuff jalapeno peppers or mushrooms!
What Can I Serve with Pepperoni Pizza Dip?
Bite-sized bread bites, toast points, pizza dough breadsticks, etc., make the BEST dippers for pepperoni pizza dip! Chips and crackers are also yummy! And to keep it keto-friendly, try an assortment of crisp, raw veggies like carrot sticks, celery, broccoli, etc.
Can I Make Pizza Dip Ahead of Time?
Yes! You can make this pepperoni dip up to 2 days in advance! Just assemble all the ingredients in the pan, cover with plastic wrap, and place it in the refrigerator until ready to heat in the oven.
