A traditional margarita is pretty hard to beat! That crisp taste of great tequila with some lime juice and triple sec. There is a reason why it is one of the most popular drink recipes out there. Sometimes it goes down just a little too well!
But if you are looking to change things up, there are so many different things that you can try making so many different flavors of margarita! This Blood Orange Margarita is a great twist on the original. And it is so simple to make! Just grab some really good quality tequila. Trust me on this, it makes all the difference between an okay margarita and a great one. Then grab triple sec, a little simple syrup, and of course some blood oranges!
Blood Oranges get their name from their bright red flesh. They have a similar taste to regular oranges, but they make for the most vibrant and beautiful drinks! Lots of grocery stores carry blood oranges this time of year, but if you have trouble finding some, hit up your local Trader Joe’s, they seem to be the most reliable place to find them. Grab a whole bag of them while you are there! You will need about two oranges to make this drink, but you will fall so hard for this amazing margarita that you will work your way through the rest of the bag making as many margs as possible.
Can’t get enough for your margarita fix?
