- We all scream for ice cream when it’s hot (and when it’s not!) so treat the family to an easy 2 Ingredient Banana Berry Ice Cream!
Ingredients
Simple Syrup: To make the simple syrup you will need granulated sugar and water. You can buy simple syrup at the store but it really is so easy to make and you can use it in so many different drinks!
Fruit: Pick up fresh raspberries for this drink and limes to juice and to slice for garnish. Freshly squeezed lime juice is amazing in this drink but you can also use bottled lime juice. Freeze some of the raspberries as well, to garnish the drinks and keep them cool!
Water: You will need water to make this limeade.
Tequila: Purchase silver tequila for this limeade. You can skip the tequila if you wish, or add a shot to individual glasses for those who want it.
How to Make Spiked Raspberry Limeade
STEP ONE: Combine the granulated sugar and water in a saucepan and bring it to medium heat. Stir the mixture until the sugar has dissolved and the liquid is clear. Remove the pan from the heat and allow the simple syrup to cool.
STEP TWO: Add the simple syrup and raspberries to a blender and blend until smooth. Strain this mixture through a sieve to remove the raspberry seeds.
STEP THREE: Pour the blended raspberries, water, lime juice, and tequila into a pitcher and refrigerate.
STEP FOUR: Once the pitcher has chilled and you’re ready to serve, add frozen raspberries and sliced limes to each drink and enjoy!
Tips for Success
- Want to make this limeade non-alcoholic? Swap out the tequila for 2 more cups of water or 2 cups of lemon-lime soda for a little fizz.
- If you can’t get fresh raspberries, you can use frozen ones instead. Thaw 1 cup of berries to make the puree and keep the rest frozen for the garnish.
- You can skip the tequila in the pitcher and just add a shot to each person’s drink before pouring in the limeade. You can also double the recipe and make one pitcher with the tequila and one without- so many options!
- Freshly squeezed or bottled lime juice will both work fine for this recipe, so choose whichever you prefer.
What is limeade made of?
A traditional limeade recipe has three ingredients- lime juice, simple syrup, and water. That’s it! This fantastic recipe is so simple, which is why adding other flavors, such as raspberry, cherry, and more, is easy to do and just as yummy. Because limeade is so easy to make and is the perfect summer thirst quencher, making your own simple syrup is a really great idea. When you make your own you can double or even triple the amounts and keep some refrigerated for a few weeks to make as many pitchers of limeade as you like, whenever you want!
What’s the best way to juice limes?
There’s a whole lot of limes that go into making raspberry limeade so why not learn how to get every last drop out of those limes you bought? Picking up a bag of limes is usually cheaper than buying them individually so when you get that bag home, open it up and start rolling! Wait, rolling? Yup! Roll the limes over the countertop with the palm of your hand to break down the inside of the lime and start releasing some juice. Slice the lime in half and either hand squeeze the lime or press it in a citrus press or reamer. You will get way more lime juice with this method and more limeade to drink!
