Add the water and granulated sugar to a medium saucepan. Place the pan over medium heat. Cook and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
Remove from the heat and allow to cool to room temperature.
Raspberry Limeade
Pour the simple syrup and raspberries into a blender. Cover and puree until smooth.
Pour through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove the seeds.
Add the lime juice, water, and tequila, stir, and refrigerate to chill.
Pour into glasses and garnish with lime slices and frozen raspberries (or ice instead of frozen fruit.) Serve immediately.
Notes
This drink is good with or without the tequila. If you want to make it non-alcoholic, add another 2 cups of water or add 2 cups of lemon-lime soda for some fizz.
You can also serve this limeade N/A in the pitcher, add a shot of tequila to your glass and then pour in the limeade to keep the pitcher family-friendly.
The simple syrup can be made ahead of time and kept in an air-tight container in the pantry or fridge until you're ready to use it.
