INGREDIENTS
Turkey: 1 1/4 pounds of ground turkey meat will make about 30 meatballs.
Veggies: These meatballs get a ton of flavor from garlic cloves, fresh parsley, spinach, and onion.
Mix-ins: Turkey meatballs are held together with a mixed egg, breadcrumbs and fresh parmesan cheese.
Seasoning: Season the meatballs with salt and pepper to taste.
HOW TO MAKE TURKEY MEATBALLS
STEP ONE: Start by preheating the oven to 400 degrees F. While the oven heats, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside. Next, in a medium-sized bowl, combine the ground turkey, one egg, 1/2 cup of bread crumbs, 1/2 cup of grated parmesan, six minced garlic cloves, two tablespoons of chopped parsley, up to 3/4 cup of finely chopped spinach, 1/4 cup of minced onion and salt and pepper as desired.
STEP TWO: Begin forming the meatballs by greasing your hands with a little oil. Roll to form 30 equal-sized, round meatballs. Place the meatballs onto the lined baking sheet.
STEP THREE: Once the meatballs are formed, place the sheet in the oven and cook them for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, turn the oven to broil and broil the meatballs until they are golden and have reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees F. Once cooked, remove the meatballs from the oven and enjoy!
TIPS FOR SUCCESS
- The turkey mixture will be soft. If you find it sticking to your hands too much, add a little more oil to your hands or wear gloves.
- The egg and breadcrumbs help to bind the meatballs together. Be careful when measuring because too many breadcrumbs may lead to loose meatballs.
- You can also saute the onions and spinach before adding them to the meatball mixture.
WHAT TO MAKE WITH TURKEY MEATBALLS
These Turkey Meatballs are flavorful and delicious on their own, but they can be incorporated into many easy dinner recipes too! First, let’s start with the obvious. These meatballs are the perfect addition to any weeknight spaghetti dinner. They also work perfectly for Easy Baked Tortellini and Meatballs or in a Pizza Pasta Bake. If you aren’t in the mood for pasta but still want to keep it simple, grab a fresh roll, your favorite marinara, and a few slices of cheese and make a tasty meatball sandwich!
HOW TO STORE AND REHEAT TURKEY MEATBALLS
You can store leftover meatballs in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. When you’re ready to reheat them, you can lay them in a single layer on a baking sheet, cover them with foil and pop them in the oven until they’re warmed through. You can also reheat them in a sauce on the stovetop. These Turkey Meatballs with spinach also freeze really well! Just place any leftover meatballs in a ziplock bag and freeze them for up to three months.
