Holiday Sangria is a sweet wine cocktail loaded with fruit and juices that’s a perfect drink for the holidays! Make it ahead of time to serve later!
I love sangria and the sweetness it delivers! My mother-in-law had me try a packaged sangria mix where you only needed to add wine. It was okay, but I wanted to create my own version with fresh ingredients. After some research, I came across an amazing sangria recipe that I modified to my liking and it was delicious! This Holiday Sangria is my favorite cocktail for the holidays. We serve it for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and even New Year’s Eve!

This Holiday Sangria recipe is sweet, fruity, and I love being able to make it ahead of time. I had a friend and her family over for dinner and a photo shoot and had her try this sangria. We both love Moscato wine, so when I found this recipe I knew it had to be a winner! She raved about this easy cocktail and we finished the pitcher. (Her husband was driving home, don’t worry.) Try this sangria at your next party and watch it disappear! I highly recommend making a double batch.

Tools used to make this Holiday Sangria recipe
Pitcher: I love pitcher drinks and this pitcher always gets oohs and ahhs from my friends and readers.
Tongs: A good pair of tongs is a kitchen essential. I like having a couple sizes – a longer set for grilling and a shorter set for stovetop cooking.
Small Saucepan: While I use bigger saucepans for everyday cooking, having a small saucepan lets me make syrups, toppings, and sauce add-ins without taking over the stovetop.
Ingredients
- 1 bottle 750ml Moscato Wine
- 2 cups Diet Cranberry Juice
- 1 cup POM Wonderful Pomegranate Juice
- ½ cup Orange Juice
- 3 ounces simple syrup
- 1 apple unpeeled, cored, quartered & sliced thin (I used Honey Crisp)
- 1 orange halved, sliced thin
- 1 lemon halved and sliced thin
- 1 red bartlett pear halved and sliced thin
- ½ cup fresh cranberries
- ¼ cup pomegranate seeds
- Champagne
- Ice for serving
Instructions
- Mix all of the ingredients in a large pitcher and stir well.
- Chill at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Stir before serving.
- Pour into glasses leaving a room at the top. Float champagne on top of the punch.
- Use a pair of tongs to extract some of the fruit for each glass.

How much champagne? Bought all the ingredients already!
Helen R Fylstra says
The recipe doesn’t say how much champagne. How much do you use?
Aubrey Cota says
It calls to leave room for a Champagne float. A float could be a splash or it could be an ounce, it’s your judgment call for how much room you leave in the glass and the amount you prefer to use.
Claudia says
How long will this last pre-batched? Was thinking about storing in Mason jars and gifting in holiday baskets
Aubrey Cota says
I wouldn’t do more than a day before because of the cut fruit. Truly I would recommend filling the basket with the ingredients needed in their whole form (whole apple, orange, pear etc… with a small bottle of champagne and a bottle of wine, you can premake the simple syrup though) then placing a copy of the recipe in the basket on how to assemble.
Alexia says
Has anyone tried mixing the champagne into the entire sangria before individual serving? Does it make a difference than if the champagne is poured into each individual cup?
Aubrey Cota says
Adding the champagne to the pitcher is perfectly fine, when adding it to individual glasses it just keeps it more “bubbly”. However you choose to do it will be just as yummy!
Ashten says
What kind of Moscato did you use?
Aubrey Cota says
No particular brand, whichever you like best will be just fine!
Judith says
Can I use prosecco instead of champagne?
Aubrey Cota says
Certainly!

How many servings does this recipe serve? It sounds delicious!!!
Aubrey Cota says
Approximately 6-8 servings depending your glass size.
Susan says
Looks delicious! Can I use regular cranberry juice with the same result?
Julie @Real Housemoms says
You sure can!
Caryn says
Looks delish!!! Going to try for Thanksgiving this year. Is diet cranberry necessary or can sub in regular? Thanks!
Julie @Real Housemoms says
Regular is fine too. 🙂
kelly says
You use white wine? It looks like red?
Julie E says
The red is from the cranberry and pomegranate juices. 🙂

Stellar recipe!!
Terri says
where do u find simple juice?
Aubrey says
It is simple syrup and I think you can find it near the drink mixes but you really don’t have to buy it. You can make it at home and have it on hand. You will just combine equal parts water and sugar and heat until sugar is dissolved. That’s it. Let us know what you think after you try it out.
Lisa says
Simple syrup is equal parts water and sugar. Heat the water to boiling, stir in sugar until it completely dissolves, let it cool. Simple! For this recipe, in order not to have a lot left over, you can use 1/4 c. water to 1/4 c. sugar. 3 liquid ounces is 3/8 of a cup, halfway between 1/4 c. and 1/2 c.
Haven’t tried this yet myself, but planning to make a couple of gallons in a big Mason jar dispenser for Thanksgiving and really looking forward to it!
