SALSA ONION DIP takes a classic dip recipe up a notch! Making the onion dip from scratch and then adding in the salsa will make this a dip you can’t stop eating!
Onion dip is probably one of the first dips I remember LOVING!!! I couldn’t get enough of that powdered soup mixed into the sour cream. You know what I’m talking about! You’d eat it with the plain potato chips and the entire guest list of the party would form a circle around the dish as everyone kept dipping chip after chip. I’ve made a slightly spicy version in our Caramelized Onion Dip that is spectacular! We had my mother-in-law in town a few weeks ago and we needed snacks! I decided to kick things up a bit and add in some salsa to make it Salsa Onion Dip. Let me tell you that wasn’t a bad decision.
Let’s be honest onion dip isn’t the prettiest. It is a beige color that we don’t always love in food but the flavor more than makes up for it! It’s so crazy easy to make this dip from scratch instead of the powder and totally worth it. My mother-in-law wasn’t too sure about the dip but she was being very polite about it. It was funny to watch. Then she tasted it. Then she tasted it again and again and again. She really liked it and you know why? It’s great, that’s why! Totally make this dip but don’t serve it in a white bowl, do the dip a favor and put it in a pretty bowl and then watch as the circle of guests forms around this Salsa Onion Dip!

I’m new to the dip scene! I used to never tough the stuff. Now I LOVE dip. “When you dip I dip You Dip” Remember that song? Bringing this to the Halloween party tomorrow. Gonna be Snow White. Husband is dressing up as Prince Charming, he doesn’t know it yet and it going to mad about the stockings. Oh well. And the velvet cape. Maybe this dip will help him get over that?!?
