How to Make Bacon Ranch Dip
STEP ONE: In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter and cream cheese, sour cream, and dry ranch mix. Beat together with a hand mixer on medium speed until smooth (you could also stir by hand).

STEP TWO: Spread the ranch dip base over a plate or serving platter. Top with cheese, bacon, and green onion. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

STEP THREE: Serve this dip with crackers and chips—it’s almost certain to disappear!

Tips for Success
- Fresh garlic or a spritz of cayenne pepper adds another layer of ZING!
- If you need to use pre-packaged bacon bits, make sure they’re real bacon.
- Sharp cheddar gives the most flavor, but any cheddar or Colby will be yummy!
- This dip is even better on the second day—but good luck making it last that long!
- Add a dollop of this into or on top of an omelet for the best breakfast ever!
- Use this as a spread for a fabulous sandwich with more bacon or thin slices of grilled chicken—YUM!

Can Bacon Ranch Dip Be Made in Advance?
Yes! In fact, it’s better to make it a day or two in advance, giving the flavors time to meld. When making it ahead of time, you can add a handful of green onions into the creamy base, top with the cheddar, cover, and refrigerate. Go ahead and chop up the rest of the green onions and make the crispy bacon, and store them in a ziplock baggie. Add these “topping” ingredients to the creamy layer just before serving.

What Gives Ranch Its Distinctive Flavor?
Ranch is a blend of herbs and spices that, when combined, produce a tangy, savory flavor. This flavor comes from parsley, chives, garlic, dill, onion, salt & pepper. When made into a salad dressing, buttermilk and mayo are traditionally used. Ranch dressing/dip has become one of the most popular condiments around. It’s enjoyed on salads, steamed veggies, and baked potatoes or even as a sauce for French fries or chicken tenders.
