You’ll love sipping this toasty treat throughout the cooler months and into the holidays. Smooth, sweet, and spiked, Slow Cooker Hot Buttered Rum is concocted in (you guessed it) a slow cooker, so it’s easy to prepare and has a robust, slow-cooked taste.
This hot buttered rum is made with creamy melted butter, brown sugar, and aromatic cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg for the perfect blend of autumn spice. Water adds just enough liquid to the recipe, and of course, it’s topped off with a few generous glugs of rum!
This simple, seven-ingredient drink is a hostess’ secret weapon during cold weather gatherings. It can be thrown together and “forgotten” while you assemble other dishes or socialize with guests, and it’s always a hit, whether it’s served at formal dinner parties or spontaneous backyard get-togethers.
I love making this beverage when I host Thanksgiving or Christmas at my house since it gives guests a hot option in addition to traditional spiked eggnog or hot cocoa. But there’s no need to wait for the holidays to debut this recipe; try sipping it while sitting around the fire pit on a crisp autumn night, or pour yourself a cup before sitting down to a movie marathon. Let’s face it: when the temperature plummets, is there ever a bad time for a mug full of something hot and spiked?
Crock Pot Hot Buttered Rum is like liquid cashmere, and once you try it, you’ll definitely make it again! Brew a batch at your next get-together for an instant crowd-pleaser; no one will believe how easy it is to make, and they’ll be begging you for the recipe.

Made this for a Christmas party we hosted recently and could not believe how good it was! Especially, for how easy and simple it is to prepare (my favorite kind of recipe!). Describing it as liquid cashmere is hitting the nail on the head. Thank you so much for this incredible recipe!! Can’t wait to make it again today. Happy Christmas!!
