When berries are in season, we stock up and eat them every way possible. Besides just eating them by the handful, this Summer Berry Smoothie is my favorite way to enjoy the sweet berry flavors!
There is nothing that screams summer more than fresh, sweet berries. Every year we head up north and pick blackberries that grow wild on the side of the freeway. Some years we have enough for a pie, sometimes there is just enough to make our favorite berry smoothie. They are so juicy and sweet! Most of the time we combine them in this smoothie so everyone gets a fair share.
I add a little bit of tofu to make it thicker and increase the protein level making this more of a meal or hearty snack. The kids don’t know there is tofu…and I’d like to keep it that way. So we’ll just keep it our little secret!
