The tartness of pomegranates gives these easy Pomegranate Spritzers a fun twist!
I adore pomegranates. Those little pinky-purply seeds pack a big punch of antioxidants, flavanoids and polyphenols. And, this super food is super flavorful too!
Sadly, they are only available in the grocery stores until January. So during that time, I usually try to into anything I can. One of my favorite recipes with pomegranate is this Pomegranate Apple Crisp.
Another great way to use this good-for-you food is in a wine spritzer. The sweet-tartness of pomegranate adds a nice little somethin’ somethin’ to sweet white wine.
I used a Moscate wine to make this cocktail but any sweet white wine will work. And, if you want to make it sans alcohol for the little ones, just use a white grape juice in place of the wine. Ginger ale or lemon-lime soda would work well too!
This is a great cocktail to whip up in the cold winter months when you can find fresh pomegranates but, if you can’t get your hands on the fresh ones, you can always just use bottled pomegranate juice and leave out the seeds as garnish. It’s just as tasty…I promise!
Ingredients
- 1 750 ml bottle of sweet white wine I used Moscato
- 1 cup pomegranate juice
- ¼ cup fresh pomegranate seeds for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pitcher, combine the wine and pomegranate juice.
- Stir in the pomegranate seeds.
