I know that Fridays are usually our Happy Hour days but this Friday I”m making an exception to bring you the Christmas Cookie Recipe Swap. This year Stacey and I got to co-host with Julie from White Lights on Wednesday and Rachel from I Heart My Disorganized Life. It’s been so much fun. Christmas is the best for so many, many reasons but one of them is baking! I love to bake and try new recipes but if I baked as much as I’d like any other time of year my husband and friends would wonder if something were wrong. You can really make the season fun with sweet baked treats. My youngest son loves to bake with me. I found the cutest little apron, baking supplies and a kid’s cookbook to give him for Christmas. I’m so excited to help him make something after Christmas. He really wants to make a how to video with me. I think sometime next year we’ll make a video to share with you. 🙂
This year I was matched up with Carrie from Frugal Foodie Mama! Have you seen her blog yet? It’s fantastic! She has great recipes that are budget friendly and fantastic. She shared with me her Peanut Butter Chai Cookies and I was so excited to try them. They’re a flavor combination that I NEVER thought of but it totally works! My husband loved them and so did I . There is a total surprise ingredient in these that totally works. Ground pepper. I put salt in cookies all the time but pepper was totally new for me. It works though with all the spices in these guys. They have the spices of a holiday cookie mixed with peanut butter and it really makes them taste more like a grown up version of my favorite cookie when I was younger. I’m gonna be including these in my food gifts to friends and family this year. Visit Carrie over at Frugal Foodie Mama and make a batch of these Peanut Butter Chai Cookies!
Be sure to check out all the fantastic cookies being shared today and grab some inspiration for all your holiday baking!
