Make this Love Potion Cocktail to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your significant other! Amaretto, grenadine and Squirt soda combine to make a tasty drink to celebrate any day!
Love Potion Cocktail is my new favorite drink you guys! The other day I got some new work toys, photography lights. We haven’t seen the sun that much this winter here in Portland and I needed something to make my work life easier. I found a lighting kit to help add some light into my photos and wanted to snap some pics right away. It’s funny how getting a new “toy” can motivate me to work again. Anyway, I wanted to be in my studio shooting so I decided to whip up a quick drink that would be pretty in pictures.
I went with amaretto for my Love Potion Cocktail because I love the flavor! It’s a total sweet drink rock star! I had some Squirt soda leftover from the Super Bowl and thought that the sweet and tangy flavor of Squirt would be great with the sweetness of the amaretto, and guess what. I was right! I added a splash of grenadine to get the pretty pink color and some orange bitters for more citrus flavor. I garnished with a lime wedge and a couple cherries on top and there you go, a beautiful picture ready for me to snap some pics of and then sip away to celebrate the new work toys!
Love Potion Cocktail would be perfect for any day but just look how beautiful it is and how perfect it would be for Valentine’s Day! I made one for my husband too and he was a happy man. Let’s be honest though, it’s a big pink drink. This is the kind of drink that he’ll drink at home when no one can see him. We’ll be having a nice Valentine’s date at home and there will be a Love Potion Cocktail or two. 🙂
