I needed to go into the grocery store the other day for two things, but as it often goes, two things turn into about twenty. I had my kids with me this time and they know that the basket, and sometimes unplanned cart, will end up quite full, no matter what I need to buy. When I do take my kids, they always want to buy a few special treats or yummy snacks. Even when I go by myself, I tend to grab extra items off the shelves or think of something else as I stroll down the aisles. You know it happens to you too!!! Anyways, my kids were being really well behaved as chips and salsa, hot wing sauce, and peanut butter and jelly happened to fall into my basket. As we were finally heading to the check out line, their eyes spotted Birthday Cake Oreos. They HAD to have them!!! My daughter is turning five next month (which seems impossible) and is constantly talking about her birthday plans and getting a “5” candle, and who is coming to her party, so these cookies were calling out to her! Now, don’t get me wrong, we have tried most of the Oreo flavors, so that we somehow missed this magical flavor surprised me. Of course they got thrown in the basket, along with some Reduced Fat Oreos. Oreos are my husbands all time favorite cookies, so I pretty much always have a box of them at home. As soon as I knew the Birthday Cake Oreos were coming home with us, I had to create something amazing with these delicious little cookies! I have made a couple great recipes using Oreos, so I wanted to try something new. After some fun Pinterest searching, I found a recipe at Picky Palate, and OH MY GOODNESS, I think making EASY NO BAKE Cookie Bars was one of the best choices I made this week!
I had some friends over last night for appetizers and Catch Phrase. By the way, if you haven’t played that game, you really need to. It is always super fun and hilarious! EASY NO BAKE Cookie Bars were the perfect treat! Everyone LOVED them! I sometimes take my friends desserts I make and these were their request for next time! These cookies are not only crazy delicious, but they are super easy to make and only use three ingredients! I first made a batch using the Birthday Cake Oreos, but once I tasted them, I knew they were going to disappear very very quickly, so I then used the Reduced Fat Oreos and made another batch. Seriously, these are the best cookie bars and they are soft, chewy, and EASY! I am not a huge fan of turning on my oven right now with temperatures in the 90s, so these are incredible for a quick no bake dessert. Believe me, you will want to make these immediately and I am going to suggest that you buy enough ingredients for two or three batches. I am heading to the store today for a different Oreo flavor so I can make more! Go ahead, run to store, grab three simple ingredients, and make some EASY NO BAKE Cookie Bars. They are unbelievably addictive, so good luck walking away. Good luck!
