With a Fresh Prince 90’s song of summer on the tip of my tongue (are you singing it, “summa, summa, summa time” yet?) and a little more hop to my step, I’m getting more and more excited for beautiful sunsets with my family, drama free vacations, and EASY tutorials. Because I don’t know about you but I’ve got better things to do the next few weeks than chain myself indoors. Like BBQ menus to prepare, sunscreen to reapply and plans that will take more energy to pack up my party of 6 than the actual vacation itself. But, I won’t go naked and I enjoy sprucing up my wardrobe each season! Enter today’s post, this Anthro Fringed Skirt tutorial will be so eeeeaaasssyyy to recreate.
Now, if I had been writing this say 5 years ago, I would have been a little confused…
WHY on earth would I wear a skirt on vacay?
To which I would, presently, reply:
Girl, why not?
It breaths, it always looks pulled together, and anything I can do in shorts – I can do in a skirt. Except for the splits… but I cannot do it anyways, so there!Â
All jokes aside, I used to be so afraid of skirts and kept them for special occasion outings, but as I have played more with this silhouette, I have realized how easy it is to bring into my everyday life! Especially with clean sneaks and a tee. What used to be a business formal, Banana Republic skirt, is now my everyday skirt all thanks to one little thing. TRIM, more specifically tassels. I have blogged about them before and I still have to see it back this season! So when I spotted the fringed skirt from Anthropologie, HERE, I said to myself – I need to share this with my women friends. So here we go…
To recreate this DIY Anthro Inspired Skirt you will need the following materials:
- Skirt – maybe from your closet?
- Matching tassel trim – long enough to go along the hem of your skirt. I bought 1 1/2 yards of tassel trim from Joann Fabric stores.
Directions:
- Take your trim tassel, car fully pin onto the hem of your skirt and securely sew your trim in place. DONE.
Wait that was too easy. Let’s try again.
- Pin your tassel trim to your skirt and sew.
WUT? That was fewer words. But you get the idea, this is an easy tutorial and it will save ya some money, the original costs $168 – so you can thank me when you add an extra date night or girl’s night to your summa plans – bonus life points if you wear your anthro inspired skirt on your date!
Thanks for stopping by and have a glamorous day!
