Then this last year I made Cherry Cobbler and I have had a just complete cherry obsession since then. And I have made cherry cobbler more times than I would like to admit to in the last few months. This Apple Cherry Cobbler dessert was actually created by accident because I didn’t have enough cherries to make my Cherry Cobbler and since I always have apples on hand I just grabbed a few of those and voila – amazingness deliciousness was created. So while the next few months the internet will be going crazy about everything pumpkin, forget that and head straight for the apples and cherries people. This will make a fantastic holiday dessert, so don’t forget to pin it for later. Enjoy friends!

- 1 ½ tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup white sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
Crumb Topping
- 1 ¼ cups yellow cake mix just the mix!

- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 6 tablespoon chilled butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- Remove stems from all of the cherries and removed seeds.
- Peel, core and quarter apples. Then thinly slice the quarter pieces.
- In a large bowl, add cherries, apples, lemon juice, cornstarch, brown sugar, white sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Gently toss to combine. Pour cherry mixture into a skillet or 2-quart baking dish.

- Add crumb topping to cover the cherries b& apples entirely. Set in the oven and bake for 25-35 minutes or until crumb topping is a nice golden brown and the juice from the cherry and apple mixture is bubbling.
- Serve immediately or let it cool and serve later, it's great either way especially with vanilla ice cream or whipped topping.

This is outstanding – I didn’t have Granny Smiths on hand and used Honeycrisp. Also I cut the recipe in half and it held up. The only thing I might do differently (as a variation) would be to use a pie crust mix to cut down on some of the sugar. The recipe is definitely wonderful as is!

Im sry but you seriously have WAYYYY too many ads on your pages. I understand that ads are needed, but I think you’ve def overdone it. Its extremely distracting and annoying to have to search for a recipe among a sea of ads.. My reason for leaving a comment is not to trash talk, but since I really have no clue how exactly all that works,as far as running a website and the ads that are shown&what not, that I thought it might be possible that you’re not fully aware of just how numerous the ads are for us readers..and in the event that you are actually aware, let you know that it really is quite unpleasant. I hope you don’t take this as me just being rude or malicious cuz I know that context can get twisted or lost when dealing solely with typing so pls understand this is more along the lines of constructive criticism.

I agree. So very hard to read this recipe. Frustrates me to no end to go online to look for recipes. Most times I just dig out my old recipe books. Im gonna try this recipe for our church homecoming. My pastor has requested an Apple Cherry Cobbler and chose me to fix it. Wish me luck 😊

Are frozen cheeries a viable susbtitute?
Aubrey Cota says
Absolutely, using frozen cherries can help with this becoming too tart.
