Pineapple and coconut are two summer must-haves, and let me assure you that eating a pina colada is just as fun as drinking one! Pina colada dip with cream cheese is so creamy and almost dangerously easy to eat, so let’s just say everyone at my house is thankful when I bring out a mostly full bowl to share. Friends of all ages love the pineapple and coconut flavors, as well as the sweetened cream cheese that gets a fluffy boost from the yummy marshmallow cream. We love to serve this fruit dip with any kind of sweet cracker, especially graham crackers, which can scoop up a lot of dip!

Dip Base: To make this dip, you will need softened cream cheese. You can choose regular or Neufchâtel, but avoid fat-free options if possible, for the best flavor. Also, grab a container of marshmallow cream from the store to bring fluffy sweetness to the party.
Mix-Ins: You will need a can of crushed pineapple, sweetened flaked coconut, and a small amount of vanilla bean paste for that classic pina colada flavor combination.
How to Make Pina Colada Dessert Dip
STEP ONE: In a large bowl, stir together the cream cheese, marshmallow cream, drained crushed pineapple, coconut flakes, and vanilla bean paste.
STEP TWO: Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least an hour.
STEP THREE: When you are ready to serve, sprinkle some toasted coconut over the top and add a couple of pineapple wedges, if you like. Then set out the dip with your favorite cookies and crackers, such as graham crackers, for dipping.
Tips for Success
- If it’s easier for you to use beaters or a mixer to beat the cream cheese, vanilla bean paste, and marshmallow cream, you can do so. Then, fold in the pineapple and coconut using a spatula.

What can I dip in pina colada dessert dip?
Pina colada dip is delicious enough to just eat with a spoon, but there are also lots of fun nibbles to dip into it! Cookies are a popular option, like Biscoff cookies, animal crackers, and vanilla wafers. Other tasty dipping sweets include small slices of pound cake, large marshmallows, and broken-up waffle cones or sugar ice cream cone pieces. You can even do a sweet and salty combo by including pretzels! Another delicious dipping idea is sliced fruit such as strawberries, apples, or pears.
Can I add anything to this dip?
There isn’t too much you could add to this dip to make it even more delicious, but there are a couple of ideas. First, just like any fun dessert, add a cherry on top! Ideally, you would slice up maraschino cherries to mix in, so that no one would have to fight over one cherry.
My favorite addition is to toast a little coconut to sprinkle over the dip. Bake 1/4 cup of coconut flakes at 350°F for about 5 minutes, until they turn a light golden brown color. Once out of the oven, let them cool. When you’re ready to serve the dessert dip, top it with toasted coconut for an even richer coconut flavor.
