Hey Real Housemoms! If you’ve been following my diy’s over the past year, you might remember a couple of previous projects using this marbled contact paper. I’ll admit I’m a tad obsessed with it for its classic looks and ability to be fabulous no matter where I use it. But better yet, it really holds up to frequent use. So before I lay my paper to rest, I wanted to feature one last project, my Marble Papered Desk Set.
Recently I updated an old 1970’s service cart while creating a craft station for the g’babies (the cart was also updated with marble paper). As part of the project, I needed some organizers for all the little things they use. So, while shopping at Target one day I spotted a set of paper desk organizers on clearance. A little boring in all white, but at a total cost of $5 for all four pieces, it was the perfect choice since I wanted to do my own diy on them.
Wrapping these pieces in contact paper was just a matter of wrapping them like I would a present while folding and trimming where necessary.
That was it! I love the fact that this station doesn’t look too juvenile, since it resides in my kitchen/dining space. And I love the entire set-up can be easily cleaned with just a quick wipe down.
Simple, pretty, and practical.
