Are you ready to celebrate Halloween?!?! I’ve got a simple, but eye-catching Halloween Specimen Jar Centerpiece tutorial to take your Halloween decor to the next level! Let’s get spooky!!
You won’t belive how easy this is. And it’s cheap! Win-win!
Here’s what you need to get started:
I picked up little jars in various sizes in the Target dollar section. The battery-operated tea lights and all the gross bugs and severed fingers came from the dollar store.
To make the bug specimen jars, grab some plastic bugs, fake spiderwebs, and a battery-operated tea light.
Stuff the spiderwebs and bugs into the jar, then insert the tea light upside-down into the webbing.
I used washi tape to decorate my spider specimen jar. The tea light gives it an eery glow, don’t you think?
For other specimen jars, simply use food coloring and water, like I did with my centipedes.
I used the same process for the severed fingers, substituting red food coloring to give the appearance of blood.
I have specimens of spiders, roaches, centipedes, flies, and severed fingers. My cake plate is decorated with black tulle and spiderwebs to add to the spooky effect.
The Halloween Specimen Jar Centerpiece is the perfect combination of cute and creepy! Add ribbon and other decorative elements to make it originally yours.
