A few months ago my brother got engaged and I got to talking with his fiance about how she’s adjusting to wearing an engagement ring and how she scratches herself at night with it on. She was talking about how she needed a place to put it in the evenings where she’d know it would be safe and wouldn’t forget where she put it or lose it. So I got to thinking and came up with this fun Engagement Ring Holder that’s a fun and pretty place to leave your rings when you’re not wearing them!
This is a fairly easy project that takes about 30 minutes to make and you don’t need to much to make it either!
Round up the following supplies:
Craft Paint and brush
Patterned paper
Small hook (and if your hook doesn’t have adhesive on it, you’ll need hot glue)
Small frame (this is a 2.5″x3.5″ inch round frame)
Sharpie marker
Mini stamps
I started by painting my frame a pretty light blue/teal color. I debated adding stripes or polka dots to it, but decided later on not to.
While I was waiting for my paint to dry, I pulled out the cardboard backing of the frame and cut out a piece of the patterned paper I had to create the backing for the frame.
Finally, I added my hook to the center of the paper and once the frame was dry, re-assembled the frame.
The last step was to use mini-stamps I had, paint them with a dark gray Sharpie marker and then stamp the frame with “With this ring…” I thought this added some charm and fun to the whole thing.
I can’t wait to give it to my future sister in law and hope it helps solve her problems!! I think this would be a fun engagement gift idea for any gal that needs a new place to display her ring. It would even be nice next to the sink in the kitchen!
