Bailey’s Flat White Martini is a drink that will have you saying G’day mate with a wee bit of an Irish accent! Crafted to mimic the flavor of the Australian espresso drink, but with the kick of Bailey’s Irish Cream in a martini form. It’s Australia meets Ireland and it’s the perfect drink to celebrate St. Patty’s Day this year!
I became familiar with the Flat White this year when Starbucks introduced it to America and instantly fell in love. When I came across this drink recipe one day, I knew I had to try it. Creamy Bailey’s combined with coffee is a great combination and I was not disappointed! I’ve also had a bit of a weekly relationship with martinis these days. I just love all the creative flavors you can make with martinis…not to mention how beautiful they look in a martini glass and coffee-flavored martinis are one of my favorite kinds of martinis.
I made this drink using Mint Chocolate flavored Bailey’s, but any flavor of Bailey’s Irish Cream will work. I also made the espresso used in the drink from instant espresso, but if you have access to an espresso machine, go for the real deal. I even think some very strong coffee would work well too, although I haven’t tried it. The froth that forms on the top of the drink is just amazing, and it’s finished perfectly with three coffee beans for a great presentation!
So ditch the green beer this year and try something different! Give the Bailey’s Flat White Martini a try and say G’day with an Irish accent!
