Back to School Homework Station

Hi friends! Kimberly from A Night Owl here, a new craft contributor for Real Housemoms! I’m so excited to share fun and EASY new ideas with you each month. I love easy. As a work at home mom, I truly believe that you can create beautiful things both quickly and easily, because who has the time?! And first up today we’re going to share a Back to School craft. Our kids are heading back to school as we speak so it’s time for prepping at home as well. And today I’m sharing and idea to keep you organized for just that, this quick and easy Homework Station!

 Here’s what you’ll need:

• Small crate
• Mason jars
• School supplies
• Chalkboard paint/marker

And the steps: Simply gather your school supplies, everything from paper, crayons, markers and pencils, depending on your child’s school level and homework activity. Move your pencils, crayons and markers in easily accessible mason jars. We found these plastic ones that are perfect for the little ones!

We found a small crate with a chalkboard front already on it! If you don’t find the same, you can easily paint on a chalkboard area to any crate you find. Add the word “Homework” with a chalkboard marker to designate your homework station!

Then simply add your mason jars of supplies, paper and more to your crate. Not only is it cute, it’s so very functional!

I can’t wait to have this available all year so I don’t have to go searching the house for crayons and more. Now when your kiddos get home they can grab their crate and go to their designated homework area wherever that is!
