Perfectly rich, creamy, and cool, these Red Velvet Milkshakes will bring out lots of happy smiles!
I used to love Valentine’s day as a kid. I loved going to the store to pick out my Valentines for my class. I’d take care to choose the best ones for my close friends. I would carefully write out each individual card, putting thought and care into the message I wrote for each person. My “mail box” shoe box was always covered in lots of paper hearts and doilies, just ready to hold all the cards I’d receive in return.
My friends would all talk about the giant heart-shaped box of chocolates their parents left for them in the morning. I was sure that by the time I got home from school, I too would be tearing into my own box of chocolates. Unfortunately for me, my parents never saw the importance of Valentine’s day. It was just another day to them. I was never going to get the chocolates and stuffed animals that I pined for. I know my parents loved me very much, but darn it, I wanted that chocolate just once!
As an adult I too think that Valentine’s Day is just another day. But I never want my kids to feel that way. Each year I dutifully pick out personal cards and chocolate for each of my kids. Sure, they know I love them whether I give them chocolate or not, but I have the satisfaction of knowing I’m creating a special memory for them.
As for me, well I’ll be celebrating Valentine’s Day with this Red Velvet Milkshake! I love red velvet! I make red velvet steamers and red velvet gelato; it just makes me happy. This milkshake will make ANYONE happy! Red velvet cake mix is blended with chocolate and vanilla ice cream and chocolate milk! You cannot go wrong with this sweet treat! Red velvet is our favorite too. I wouldn’t think to add a cake mix to a milkshake, but this looks like a killer dessert!
