Have you ever thrown a party or forgotten about a candle only to find wax dripped onto your carpet or favorite table cloth? I’m going to show you my secret of how to get wax out of carpet. It also works great on fabrics as well.
There are many tricks out there, like ice, but I have found that freezing it and pulling it off sometimes leaves a residue on my fabrics and it ends up ruining the knap of my carpet leaving a fuzzy spot. This way of removing wax from carpet actually melts and pulls the wax out leaving your fabric and carpet intact. I trust this method so much I actually melted this candle right onto my carpet to prove it to you!
See all that ugly brown burnt wax? Every bit of it is going to come right out. First you set your iron on low. Then set a piece of paper on your wax spot. Any paper will do I have even used pages out of an old phone book. Then place the iron on top for a few seconds.
Just a note my carpet is synthetic and the iron on low did not melt it at all. Then move the iron back and you will see that the paper has started to absorb the wax.
You will then move the paper over a bit and do it again. You can see below when I’m about 1/2 way through the process and the wax is really lifting away.
Just continue to move the paper around and iron until the wax is gone. This stain took me one sheet of regular copy paper. My carpet is good as new and not fuzzy from pulling and scraping.
