Perfect for summer, this Simple Iced Tea Bar is simple & fun for entertaining guests. Using black tea, add some mix-ins like fruit or herbs to create a delicious variety of flavors with your tea!
I love hosting get-togethers, especially as the weather turns warm. Relaxing outside on my porch with family and friends is the thing I enjoy most besides the sunshine. On a hot, sunny day, I love having an ice-cold cup of tea in my hand. I prefer black tea because it gives me that pick-me-up I need either in the afternoon or while entertaining. What’s great about Lipton Black Tea is you can drink it at any time of the day. It’s carefully crafted to provide you with the pick-me-up to keep you going while tasting delicious and quenching your thirst.

Typically, people have their way of drinking their tea, like a squeeze of lemon, a bit of honey, or my personal favorite – adding herbs or piece of fruit to add a punch of color. I love giving my friends and family options to make their tea their own. Not only does it allow for everyone to have options, but it also makes a great addition to any party or get-together.
When creating this Simple Iced Tea Bar, I prefer using Lipton Black Tea (which I discovered from discoverteashop.com) as it is a great base to build off, allowing you to add any flavor you love.
I started drinking iced tea as a kid because I lived in the south and it is the drink of choice there in the summer. Because tea is 99.5% water, it is easy to stay hydrated, and it’s a refreshing change-up from drinking just plain old water.
Also, I love the fact the Lipton Black Tea unsweetened contains zero calories. That’s right friends, drink away and enjoy. With no added sugars to Lipton Black Tea, you can still add in those things you like – such as mint or lemon – to keep your drink healthier while enjoying something with flavor.
What is an Iced Tea Bar?
Since I can never get enough tea, I always lead with that. An iced tea bar consists of an iced tea (of course!), with a variety of add-ins from fresh fruit to syrups and sometimes alcohol.
Having iced water available is always a nice addition for those kids who haven’t yet developed a love for tea. They can simply still add their favorite fruit to make it fun.
While most of us are used to just making a glass or two of tea, it really is simple to make a large batch. For Lipton Black Tea, use 4 bags steeped in 1-quart of hot water + 1 quart of cold or ice water and serve.
How to Make Iced Tea in a Large Batch
To make 2-gallons of tea for a large beverage dispenser, use 16 tea bags steeped in 1-gallon of hot water + 1 gallon of cold or ice water. Pour in the dispenser and serve.
A tip for brewing black tea: Allow your tea bags to steep for a whole 2-3 minutes in the boiling water until it turns a rich amber color like above. I like it a little stronger, so make sure to adjust to your taste.
What Add-Ins Can I use for my Simple Iced Tea Bar?
- Fruits: strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, peaches, lemon, lime, and orange slices
- Herbs: basil, mint, and rosemary
- Syrups: ginger, honey, and regular simple syrup
With all of these options for add-ins, you can easily create some fun combinations. While add-ins and syrups are not necessary, they do add a touch of sweetness for those who love sweet tea.
What Are Good Iced Tea Flavor Combinations?
Some of my favorites, especially during the summer months, are…
- Strawberry + Basil + Simple Syrup
- Lime + Mint + Ginger Simple Syrup
- Raspberry + Lemon + Mint + Honey Simple Syrup
Being a busy mom doesn’t mean I can’t add simple touches that make a difference. Creating a Simple Iced Tea Bar is fun and easy and takes less than 20 minutes to set up.
Simply make your Lipton Black Tea ahead of time, wash and slice up fruit if needed, and set the table, and you are ready to go.
A fun tip would be to freeze some of the berries ahead of time and use them instead of ice to chill your tea. Even freezing herbs in ice cubes is a great, easy addition.

The best result of taking this quiz is that it opened me up to trying a variety of teas, whereas I might not have branched out before.
