I love making champagne cocktails! I’m not one to drink it straight, but I think it makes a fantastically bubbly mixer! Last year for new year’s eve I made Champagne Margaritas and Champagne Shirley Temples and they were both a HUGE hit! And this fun and easy Champagne Lemonade is the perfect addition to my list of bubbly cocktails that are great for celebrating the holidays with!
You can make the simple syrup at home or you can use store-bought. In fact, you can totally cheat with this recipe and use store-bought lemonade, because honestly, we don’t always have the extra time during the holidays and finding ways to serve up something fun and delicious without killing ourselves in the kitchen is important, am I right?
Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 8 cups cold water
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice
- 750 ml Moscato Champagne chilled
- 1 lemon sliced, plus 1 lemon, cut into wedges, for garnish
Instructions
- Make a simple syrup by adding the sugar and water to a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over low heat. Stir mixture until the sugar dissolves, then remove from the heat and set aside to cool.
- Pour cold water and lemon juice into a large glass pitcher. Add the simple syrup and the lemon slices. Stir well. Pour the lemonade into champagne flutes, filling 1/2 to 2/3 of the way full and top off with champagne. Garnish the rims with lemon wedges!
Notes
You can also substitute the homemade lemonade for store-bought.
