I don’t know about you Housemoms, but for me, my home’s winter styling has had its day. I’m ready to put away the shimmery crystal, store my furry throws, and remove the rustic logs from the mantle. Lately I’ve been pining for my spaces the soft pastels in muted colors that bespeak of spring and a warm + happy green.
Let’s Scout & Score a few of my favorite retailers for a fresh spring dining space. A palette of soft pinks and greys is my shade of choice in my favorite style of modern vintage.
What do you think of the colors? I love the soft hues mixed with the organic shapes all contrasted with the beautiful sheen of warm metals. Best of all, these selections are an affordable option from nationwide retailers. The only exception is the beautiful vintage piece I picked from Etsy, because every space needs a one-of-a-kind piece.
My first choice was a beautiful marble shelf. It’s an organic element that grounds the design. I don’t know about you, but most anything marble sends me over the moon. And although I can’t afford to tear out my granite in lieu of a full on marble kitchen space, I can incorporate a piece of it with this beautiful shelf. I love this practical little shelf for its ability to fit in just about anywhere.
To that I’ve added a mixed collection of marble dinnerware that mimics the marble shelf and adds interest. A geometric dinner plate in white + black balances all the other organic shapes going on here.
Now to add some color – but just a little. For that, I’m loving the blush colored bowl and plate. They’re a subtle touch of pretty that also tones down the metallic sheen of the copper flatware.
And for that unexpected element, a vintage Blenko vase in vivd emerald green. Isn’t it just lovely against the softer colors? One big pop of color really makes a statement rather than using several competing colors of the same hue.
As a rule, I always incorporate a piece or two of vintage into every space. It’s especially important when you’re adding a lot of new pieces into a design. The vintage patina helps tone down the newness and make a space feel lived in.
Beautiful, soft, and inviting. I’m loving this collection. How about you?
Are you ready for a spring update to your space? I’m slowly incorporating new colors into my home as we speak, and it’s a true work in progress since I don’t have a budget to replace everything at once. Trying to blend my old color choices with my new color choices is a challenge; but for me, that’s half the fun!
