This past Friday we attended a great event out here called The Glitter Academy. It’s put on by three fantastic bloggers, Jamielyn of I Heart Nap Time, Kristyn of Lil’ Luna, and Stephanie of Somewhat Simple. If you haven’t had a chance to visit their blogs head on over and check them out, they are great. The night was fantastic, not just because Stacey and I were able to get out of the house without the kids for a night, but the people were awesome, the room looked great, there were yummy desserts and fun crafts, what more could you ask for?! If you’re out here in Phoenix you have to join us for the next event. Follow The Glitter Academy on Facebook to make sure that you hear about the next one.
We had so much fun meeting new friends and finding new blogs to follow. There was so much happening, starting with dinner, then party games, dessert, crafting and raffles. I never win won this super cute Halloween frame from Little Yellow Barn. As soon as Hayden and Vaughn saw this they were crazy excited about the rats. We had a close call when they felt like they couldn’t resist playing with them and ALMOST lost a couple rats.
The dessert table by Paging Supermom was beautiful and you can download the free printables used on the table over at their blog. The cupcakes, provided by Mind Over Batter, were pretty spectacular as well and pretty spot on with the cupcake toppers, who isn’t distracted by shiny objects? I tried one of the green cupcakes and was pleasantly surprised by a citrus flavor in the frosting! YUMMY!!!!!!
We ended the night doing a subway art craft from Poppy Seed Projects. There were a few to chose from. I picked this Halloween Owl board and Stacey picked the Hello Sunshine piece. I think they turned out great and have decided that I will be asking Santa for a Silhouette this year to make some vinyl at home. It was so much fun and easy to do. If you’re not out here in AZ look around your area for a crafting night or just head on over for a ladies’ road trip for the next Glitter Academy! It is definitely worth it.
