Tips for Success

  • To make this drink a mocktail, simply leave out the vodka and triple sec and use the same amount of water instead.
  • Feel free to use low or no-sugar juice and/or raspberry lemonade mix in this recipe.
  • To keep this drink cool a little longer, mix it in a pitcher and store it in the fridge until you are ready to serve. You don’t want to add ice ahead of time because it will water down the drink. Also, try not to make up the drink too far in advance because the bubbles will dissipate over time and leave the drink flat.

What’s the best liquor for a hot summer?

Clear, citrusy spirits like vodka, gin, and tequila are some of the best liquors to enjoy in the summer. These spirits are made with citrus or herbs and botanicals that are naturally cooling and perfect for pairing with other refreshing ingredients. Sweet and sour juices like lemonade, cranberry, and lime are also cooling, so drinks combining juice and vodka, gin, or tequila are incredibly popular in warm places. Delicious drinks like Meg’s Hot Pink Summer and more help you enjoy the wonderful sunny and warm weather!

As the seasons change, so do our preferences for the drinks we enjoy. As we ease into or enjoy summer, refreshing drinks are a must-have! Margaritas, Pina Coladas, Cosmos, Sangria, and Mojitos are far and away some of the most popular summer drinks. These drinks pair fruits and juices with light spirits and can also include cooling ingredients like mint and cucumbers, which we all know are perfect on a hot day!
