Vodka
Don’t go crazy using super fancy vodka; the flavor of it is mostly masked by the juice. I typically go middle-of-the-road vodka personally. The cheap stuff leaves you feeling icky, but don’t waste the expensive stuff on a mixed drink!
Peach Schnapps
Peach Schnapps is a sweet, peach-flavored liqueur and a major part of the flavor of the drink. It’s great to have on hand for all kinds of other drinks, like a fuzzy navel, so I would recommend keeping some on hand for summer cocktails. Be sure to store it in a cool, dark place. Think liquor cabinet or pantry. Heat will cause the peach aromatics to fade.
Orange Juice
Feel free to use any orange juice you have, whether it’s pulp-free or has pulp; it will all be delicious. Pick one that you like the flavor of, it’s a big part of this drink.
Cranberry Juice
Both cranberry cocktail or 100% cranberry juice work in this drink. Keep in mind there is more sugar in the cranberry juice cocktail, so if you’re looking to reduce the sweetness of this drink, the 100% juice may be the best option.

This Sex on the Beach recipe makes one cocktail, but I always end up making a BIG batch so everyone can come back for seconds (or thirds). If you make a pitcher, wait to add the grenadine until you fill your glass. The best thing about making a Sex on the Beach cocktail is how easy it is. Just pour, shake, or stir, and serve!
Making Just One Serving
When making just one cocktail, I like to use a cocktail shaker with crushed ice. This makes sure the drink gets nice and cold, even a little frothy.
Making a Pitcher
Want to make a big batch in a pitcher? Use 1 cup of vodka, 1 cup of peach schnapps, 2 cups of orange juice, and 2 cups of cranberry juice. You can either add 1/4 cup of grenadine to the pitcher or pour it into each cocktail once it’s poured.
If you’re making this ahead of time, leave out the ice until you’re ready to serve. Add ice into the glasses instead of the pitcher, or freeze berries or peach slices to keep the pitcher cold without watering it down.
Topping with Grenadine and Garnish
To top with a float of grenadine, use a spoon to pour the grenadine into the cocktail-filled glass. This way, it’ll sink to the bottom of the drink for a great layered look. Garnish your glasses with a fresh orange slice and a maraschino cherry.

Sex on the Beach Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 ounces vodka
- 2 oucnes peach schnapps
- 4 ounces orange juice
- 4 ounces cranberry juice
- ½ ounce Grenadine*
- Maraschino cherry
- Orange slice
Method
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Pour in 2 ounces vodka, 2 oucnes peach schnapps, 4 ounces orange juice, and 4 ounces cranberry juice. Close the shaker, and give everything a good shake.
- Strain the cocktail into a collins glass filled with ice. Use a spoon to pour a little 1/2 ounce Grenadine* over the cocktail.
- Garnish with a Maraschino cherry and an Orange slice on the rim of the glass. Serve immediately.
