Sand Pudding
Sand pudding is outstanding!!! It tastes similar to cheesecake, which is my all time favorite dessert. I showed my kids the full bucket and they were surprised that they could actually eat this “sand”. They thought it looked so real and they loved how the “sand” and pudding tasted together! I could not stop eating spoonful after spoonful, and ate so much I might as well have used the shovel! Serving the pudding in a bucket with a shovel is creative and fun, and would definitely impress your kids and guests. If you choose to serve the dessert in individual cups, the layers look great too! Sand pudding would be perfect to serve at any summer event, including Labor Day weekend. Layer and then shovel away! Enjoy!
Sand Pudding
You won't mind your kids eating THIS sand! Ground cookies and pudding taste amazing in this dessert!
Ingredients
- 1 pkg Vanilla Wafers
- 3 Oreo cookies
- 8 oz Cream Cheese
- ¼ C Butter
- ⅔ C powdered sugar
- 2 small pkgs or 1 big pkg Vanilla pudding mix
- 2 ¾ C Milk
- 12 oz 4 1/2 cups Cool Whip (store bought or homemade )

Can I make this the day before? Or will it moisten the “sand” to much?
Hey Veronica! I’ve never made this that far in advance. I am also wondering if the sand might get to moist. We should try it!
Can I make it the night before?
you can make the pudding the night before and cover with saran wrap touching the top of the pudding, but I wouldn’t totally assemble until the day you are ready to serve. You wouldn’t want to run the risk of it just becoming a glob of pudding and “sand.”
I made the sand castle pudding for our block party, it was a HUGE success, especially with the kids!

Do you think if i double the recipe, it will still taste as good? Some recipes can taste a bit different when doubled. Looks amazing, I cant wait to make it!
