This simple fruit dip recipe is a really tasty snack! We love peanut butter and always put it on apples. This dip takes the snack to a whole new level, with an added sweet flavor. You can always add a little cinnamon for a stronger fall flavor.

It’s also a great after-school snack for kids. My kids eat apples pretty much every day, and they love adding this dip! During my alone time on the elliptical recently, I was craving some peanut butter apple dip. It’s a great post-workout snack packed with protein!

Ingredients

PEANUT BUTTER: I always use creamy peanut butter for this delicious dessert. If you like crunchy peanut butter and want little bits of peanuts in your dip, use it! You can also use reduced-fat peanut butter to help cut down on calories.

PUDDING MIX: Grab a box of instant vanilla pudding mix. It adds some extra sweetness and helps thicken the dip, too. Plus, everything’s better with a little vanilla flavoring!

SOUR CREAM: I like the tangy creaminess of sour cream! You can also swap and use plain or vanilla Greek yogurt for a peanut butter yogurt dip. Greek yogurt keeps the tang and loses a few calories.

I tend to serve this peanut butter dip with sliced apples, but there are so many things you can dunk in peanut butter!

How to Make Peanut Butter Dip

  1. First, mix the milk, sour cream, and pudding mix together. Whisk it up until it’s super smooth. You don’t want any lumps left!
  2. Then, add the peanut butter and sugar to the mix. Stir until it’s totally combined. If the dip becomes too thick, add a little more milk!

Be sure to store any leftover peanut butter fruit dip in the fridge. It will stay fresh for up to 5 days for a great meal prep snack! Make sure to keep it in an airtight container for ultimate freshness.

What to Dip in Peanut Butter

I often call this a peanut butter apple dip, but there are so many things to dip in peanut butter from savory to sweet!

If you wanna stay on the fruit route, try bananas, strawberries, pears, or even cute fruit kebabs! You can also dip celery or carrots in here for some veggies. No need for ranch dressing here.

Need more crunch? Try cinnamon tortillas or graham crackers! I sometimes find myself eating it plain or adding it to a yogurt parfait, so there’s no wrong answer here.

Tools used to make Peanut Butter Dip

Mixing bowlI love this no-bake dessert recipe because you just need one mixing bowl to make it! Be sure you have space to stir vigorously to get everything combined perfectly.

Whisk: Be sure to whisk the sour cream or Greek yogurt until there are no lumps. A good, strong whisk should do the trick!

  1. Have you (or has anyone) tried using plain Greek yogurt instead of the light sour cream? I use plain Greek yogurt in place of sour cream for things like tacos and in many other instances where sour cream is called for, I’m just not sure how it might change the consistency/texture of this recipe. I have half a tub of Fage 0% in my fridge, as well as (regular) creamy peanut butter and even SF vanilla pudding mix, I suppose I could try it myself – just would hate to waste that much PB if it turned out terribly (which I really can’t imagine, haha 🙂 )

  2. It’s the pudding that it gives it that look! Very interesting ingredient list. I’ve been wanting to make some peanut butter dip. It seems like the perfect snack and also a fun appetizer to take to a party!
