Today’s the day!!! We get to walk in the door of our new house in Beaverton today!!! We’re so excited and so are the kids. So our Labor Day weekend will be filled with cleaning, unpacking and then Monday we pick up my Mom who’s going to help us get settled into the house. She’s become a professional mover after moving every couple of years both when she grew up and when I was growing up. One Easter she was back in CA from MI and so excited to be close to us again that she invited us to her house for Easter. Did I mention that the movers had just dropped off all of her things that morning? It gets better than that! When we pulled into town that night she was unpacked. A 3000+ square foot house was unpacked in a day! She came out to help Casey and I when we first moved to AZ and he didn’t know what hit him. This time around he’s ready and excited. It’s gonna be great. We’re so grateful for all the friends and family that have been helping us in the huge move. Stacey was amazing in AZ bringing us food and support when it seemed like EVERYTHING went wrong! Our friends out here in Oregon, Steve and T.J. have been letting first Casey stay with them and then all of us while we wait to get into our house. We’ve been so blessed with great people in our lives!
Today’s recipe is for all of you that are having more of a party this Labor Day. Last year we went camping with family to celebrate and made s’more of course, but I also brought along quick and easy Golden Graham S’mores Bars. They were a huge hit so this year I thought I’d make some as a special treat for Casey when he came home. He was in Portland working for three weeks while we packed up the house and got ready to head our of town. We missed him so much that the boys and I had to make a special dessert for his homecoming. His favorite s’mores are made with Reese’s peanut butter cups so I thought why not make the bars with them?! They were amazing. They stayed gooey and had the perfect amount of chocolate and buttery peanut butter. The kids were so excited to give them to him to eat and they wanted to eat the whole tray as soon as he got in!
If you make these for your friends and family for Labor Day you’ll be heralded as a hero for years to come!!! 🙂

I made these for Memorial Day. Other than “oh my gosh are these ever delicious” the only other thing to say is make sure you either have great self control or people at your home when they are done. They are so wonderful it was almost impossible for me to stop eating them so I had some for the party.

Aubrey was kind enough to share Casey’s special desert when we stopped by to see them off on their new adventure in Beaverton. So sad to see them go, but this desert took a tiny bit of the sadness away. It is delicious and addictive so I limited myself to one piece, so good and will be making it during the holidays to put into gift packages. So good!
