My two boys (ages 4 and 5.5) are BIG monster fans. They love the funky eyes, the big teeth, the scraggly legs… The scarier the better. So after we practiced numbers with some fun monster counting cards, they
asked begged me to come up with an equally awesome follow up. This free monster alphabet match up game did the trick!
To prep, I printed the free monster ABC cards (HERE) on cardstock to give them extra durability. Then I cut apart the cards and mixed them up.
My older son (age 5.5) has learned all 26 upper and lowercase letters so he was eager to take on the big challenge of matching the whole stack of cards in one sitting.
My younger son (age 4), on the other hand, is still learning the letters so, to keep the activity fun and stress free, I picked out six pairs from the deck and had him match them up.
Each time he found a pair, I named the letters for him. “Good eyes! You found the uppercase C here and the lowercase c here!”
