Crock Pot Artichoke Crab Dip combines artichoke hearts, crab, cream cheese, and parmesan for a deliciously creamy dip everyone will love!
I love appetizers that I can throw together in a few minutes a couple of hours before a party. You can come right back to the kitchen right as guests are arriving and be ready to serve up something delicious! I also love how serving crab appetizers, like crab rangoon and this Crock Pot Artichoke Crab Dip, makes everyone think I am super fancy. If only they knew how easy this dip was to make!
Crab and artichoke dip is the ultimate indulgence! This addicting dip is my favorite smeared on a slice of freshly cut baguette or scooped up with a lightly salted, buttery cracker. I guarantee everyone will be scooping up a spoonful of this hot and creamy crab dip.
CRAB ARTICHOKE DIP RECIPE INGREDIENTS
Artichoke Hearts- You will need a 14 oz can of artichoke hearts. You may also find artichoke hearts in a jar, but be careful as a lot of them come marinated in oil and seasoning. For this recipe, plain artichoke hearts work best.
Cream Cheese- Use one 8 oz package of regular cream cheese cut into cubes.
Crab Meat- You can use a 4 oz can of crab meat which you will find in the grocery store with the canned tuna. There are other ways to purchase crab meat as well, but this is the easier and most inexpensive. Definitely steer clear of imitation crab meat though!
Parmesan Cheese- Freshly grated parmesan cheese is a must!
Dippables- There are a couple dipping options available, such as fresh sliced baguette, pita, or simple butter club crackers. You can also use fresh veggies, like celery, to dip.
HOW TO MAKE CRAB ARTICHOKE DIP
Throw this delicious dip together a couple of hours before your guests arrive! It’s the perfect set it and forget it appetizer!
STEP ONE: Spray the inside of the crock pot with cooking spray. Add the artichoke hearts, crab, cream cheese, Parmesan, green onions, and lemon juice to the slow cooker and stir everything together.
STEP TWO: Cover and cook the dip on LOW heat for 2-3 hours or until the cream cheese is completely melted.
STEP THREE: Scrape down the side of the crock pot with a rubber spatula and stir the dip until the cheese is smooth and the ingredients are all mixed together. Serve hot crab artichoke dip immediately and enjoy!
CAN I FREEZE CRAB ARTICHOKE DIP?
I do not recommend freezing hot crab and artichoke dip leftovers because it contains cream cheese which typically does not freeze well. There are plenty of amazing appetizers you can make ahead of time to have on hand for a get-together, but this is one I recommend making right before you plan to serve it.
You can always refrigerate this dip should you have any leftovers. Just transfer it and store it in an airtight container. To reheat it, avoid the microwave and use the oven instead!
