Don’t forget to serve up a Lucky Whiskey Sour at your St. Patrick’s Day party! Using homemade Sweet and Sour Mix makes anyone lucky to taste this drink recipe!
Lucky Whiskey Sour is far from your typical green drink. OK. It’s totally a cliche on St. Patrick’s Day but it’s a really tasty cliche that you’ll want to drink with or without the green dye. The key is to use the Homemade Sweet and Sour Mix. It takes no time at all to make and the fresh flavor is like nothing that will come in a bottle from the store. I used to think that I HATED whiskey sours, turns out I just had a truly bad one. Who would have thought a bunch of kids in their early 20’s wouldn’t be able to mix a drink. 😉
I never really drank whiskey until a few years ago in Vegas. My husband was on a whiskey sour kick this particular trip and I had a sip of his. Oh. My. Goodness!!! It was amazing! Maybe a little too good if you know what I mean. We were at the lounge bar at the Cromwell just after it opened. It’s a cute little boutique hotel on the strip and they really did things well. We were offered sangria when we checked in and had a gorgeous view. Anyway… back to my point. The drinks at that bar weren’t your typical bar drinks. They were fresh and made right. So I was inspired to make a good whiskey sour when I got home.
The drink on it’s own isn’t green but I wanted to make it a fun cocktail for St. Patrick’s Day to share with friends. I think it’s fun to get a little cheesy on these holidays. It’s sort of a joke to add the green food coloring into the drink but if you’re not a fan totally leave it out. I think if you make a Lucky Whiskey Sour for your St. Patrick’s Day party your friends will be calling on you all the time to mix up a batch! 😉

Even though my head hurts like crazy today I can’t stop thinking about the drink I had last night. A bit hazy, but I can taste the whiskey still 😉 I wonder what it was, I have never been a fan of whiskey before. This was great however. =)
