The fizzy, fruity, vibrant flavors of our 3-ingredient Clover Club Cocktail bring elegance and sophistication to a classic mixed drink.
Try this sweet & spectacular Clover Club Cocktail recipe for a taste of traditional Americana! Dating back to the pre-Prohibition days of Philadelphia, this elegant yet easy mixed drink is a beautiful, blush-pink blend balanced with herbal gin, sweet grenadine, and a bold splash of lemon – bright and beautiful!

Three Ingredients Work Perfectly!
An authentic Clover Club has a velvety, foamy head, BUT…this foam comes from shaking a raw egg white into a froth, and I’m just not a fan. So, I created this easy, 3-ingredient version without the raw egg! The result is a ONE-minute cocktail that’s cool, clean, crisp, and delish like this Strawberry Gin Fizz. Serve this classy drink in chilled glasses and savor the experience!

Ingredients

Gin: Since gin is the star of this show, opt for your favorite high-quality gin.
Lemon: While you can use bottled lemon juice, there is no comparison to the bright, tangy flavor of a fresh-squeezed lemon!
Grenadine: Grenadine works well in this cocktail as a convenient substitute for homemade raspberry syrup. Grenadine is fruity and sweet and works wonderfully in this drink!
Garnish: Raspberries and/or lemon slices can be used as garnish for this cocktail, if desired.
How to Make a Clover Club Drink
STEP ONE: Fill a drink shaker with ice. Add the gin, lemon juice, and grenadine. Shake well.

STEP TWO: Strain into a chilled martini glass.

STEP THREE: Garnish your glass with a slice of lemon or a cocktail skewer of raspberries. Drink up!

Tips for Success
- To make this cocktail fully authentic, top it with an egg white froth.
- Instead of the traditional, time-consuming homemade raspberry syrup, we’re using simple, easy grenadine for fresh, fruity flavor!
- Look for a high-quality grenadine that uses real pomegranate juice and is free from high-fructose corn syrup.
- Freeze the cocktail glasses to keep this drink chill when serving.

What is a Clover Club Cocktail?
A traditional Clover Club Cocktail is a mixed drink composed of gin, fresh lemon juice, raspberry syrup (or grenadine), and topped with a foamy egg froth head. This classic drink comes straight from Philadelphia’s Bellevue-Stratford Hotel, circa 1900. The drink recipe was quite popular with their high-society clientele, then all but disappeared for the last 100 years. Thanks to modern cocktail books, the Clover Club has made a comeback. You should give it a try!
What Does it Mean to “Dry Shake”?
Mixed drink recipes are almost always prepared by stirring or shaking. When the cocktail calls for dry shaking, it simply means shaking your ingredients together without ice.
If the recipe requests a Reverse Dry Shake, this means to shake the ingredients with ice to chill it, then remove the ice and shake again before adding to a chilled glass.
