Do you ever want to scream when you take a shirt out of your kids hamper only to realize it’s been sitting with chocolate ice cream or spaghetti sauce all down the front of it for a few days? I’m here to save you from throwing away those previously ruined shirts with this handy dandy printable laundry stain chart. You can print it out and hang it right in your laundry room.
Kids get into all kinds of messes and it’s not as hard as you think to get rid of stubborn stains without using harsh bleaches that break down clothing fibers or remove color from your clothes. Here is a shirt of my son’s and yes this was from one day!
My favorite enzyme cleaner is Biz. You can read here where I tested it on this shirt and see how it all came out with one wash. If you are wondering what an enzyme cleaner is? Enzymes are a type of protein. These cleaners are a catalyst used to break down other protein or greasy stains and dirt that are occur in nature such as grass, blood and dirt. Some stains need a little more than an enzyme detergent, but I’m going to show you how to remove the most common laundry stains for kids. Here is all you will need to remove any stain for most of your laundry needs.
Most of them you probably already have in your home like shampoo, hydrogen peroxide, vinegar and WD-40. WD-40 is an amazing cleaner, if you want to see why, see my 30+ Household Uses for WD-40. Here are the stains I’m going to show you how to get out with these seven cleaners:
- Baby Food
- Fruit Juice
- Spaghetti Sauce
- Ring around the collar
- Stickers and Glue
I’ve wrapped it all up in a one page chart you can print out and laminate if you wish. You can hang it on your laundry room wall or door. Just be careful to read your garments washing instructions first. These tips are not intended for dry clean only garments. If you are not sure just test it on a small area like the hem of a shirt first.
