I love traveling and I’ve been getting to do more of it over the last year! It’s great to get out of town with my family and show my kids places they’ve never been or just get us to all unplug for a bit and spend time together. There are times, though, that momma needs a break!
I’m lucky to have met some of my best friends blogging. These women are so much fun and some of the kindest women you’d ever meet! So when I was invited by Universal Studios Orlando for a girls’ trip to stay at Cabana Bay and visit the parks for a few days I jumped at the chance! We had some really amazing sponsors of this trip that made it all possible.
We spent two days at the parks. I’ve been once before with my kids. My oldest isn’t a fan of a lot of rides so we didn’t go on many but we were really there to take in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter so that’s where we stayed. This time around I got to do all the rides that I wanted to and just be a kids again with my friends! I got to experience so much more and had a blast!
The fun didn’t stop at the rides! We also ate our way around Universal. I think one of my favorites was Toothsome. It was a fun themed restaurant and filled with chocolate! You know I have a weekness for chocolate! When you get there you’ve got to make sure that you save room for dessert! They have some of the best milkshakes ever!
We stayed at the Cabana Bay Resort. It was so fun! It has a Mid-Century feel so you feel like you’re in the Jetsons (I know that was the future but you know that look) or Mad Men.
We would spend the morning in a power session talking shop and sharing what’s working for our businesses and helping each other with problems we’re stuck on. We met at the cafe and would get breakfast and work. We fell in love with the chocolate croissants. So don’t miss those when you get there!
I loved that we had the express pass. I learned that when you stay at certain Universal Resorts you get the express pass for free. If you don’t you would have to pay extra for it. If you’re making your way out there this summer I would totally recommend it! The express pass let’s you get out of waiting in the long lines of the rides. There is a special entrance for people with the express pass. We didn’t wait more than 15 minutes to get on a ride! They don’t work in the Wizarding World or on some of the newer rides so keep that in mind when planning your day.
I’m a huge fan of Harry Potter so that’s my favorite place to be. If you haven’t been and you’re a fan you have to try to get there. The detail they put in is incredible! You feel like you’re walking down Diagon Alley or around Hogsmead. You can walk through Hogwarts and Gringots and you can even get a wand at Olivanders! You have an option to get an interactive wand that you can use to do spells around the Wizarding World to make magical things happen. When I came with my little guys we had so much fun running around casting spells!
We had such a great time and I can’t wait to get back with the family or for another girls trip! I really want to thank Universal and the Cabana Bay Resort for showing us such a great time! Also, a big thank you goes to Kia for setting us up with some great cars to make our way around Orlando! We also want to say thanks to Squatty Potty! They were such a fun company to talk with and I know what my family is getting for Christmas this year!
