Enjoy the best that Fall has to offer with this Bourbon Pumpkin Milkshake, a delicious adult-only creamy dessert cocktail!
Fall is my favorite season! That statement with a grain of salt because I make such claims for each season about once per quarter. But, given that I love to cook and eat, Fall really is one of my most favorite times of the year. One of the main reasons? Pumpkin. I love walking through the store and seeing pumpkin-flavored everything! Is it that good because we only get to enjoy it this time of year?
My husband is a lover of bourbon. He’s the kind of guy that will pour himself a glass and sip it like he’s drinking water. I can’t really handle drinking it, myself, but I sure do love the flavor it adds. I put just the right amount, in my opinion, of bourbon in this shake to give it the right balance. He opted to add more when he was halfway done with it. Totally up to you! Recipes for milkshakes are like recipes for sandwiches – they’re more like guidelines than exact instructions.
So, if you’re looking for the perfect fall dessert that only takes a few minutes to throw together that you can enjoy when the kids go to bed, this milkshake is for you!
Ingredients
- 1 cup vanilla bean ice cream
- 2 tablespoons pureed pumpkin frozen
- 2 tablespoons bourbon chilled to ice cold
- ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth. If pumpkin and bourbon are not frozen, you may have to add ice to ensure the proper thickness.
Now, if you’re interested in taking this delicious milkshake past the point of perfection, you should consider making your own extreme vanilla bean ice cream.
Or, follow instructions on how to roast winter squash and make your own pumpkin puree instead of using it from a can!
