Well, I lost again this week but 0.3 pounds instead of 3 pounds. That’s OK and here’s why. I’m still at the beginning. I am still figuring out what works for me and what doesn’t. I’m not giving up because that’s no longer an option for me. I have to be able to keep coming back here week after week for #FitFriday, right!!! I love having you all to be accountable. That’s so motivating!
So it looks like I need a new plan or at least I need to tweak my plan. I’m pretty sure that I will be making changes all along the way on this journey to fit. So what do I plan to change? A few things. The first though is food based.
I LOVE my Fitbit Charge HR! Like I never want to be without it, can’t stop checking the app to see how close I am to my goals and maybe a little obsessed. That being said I do not love the food tracking with the Fitbit app. It’s not as comprehensive as other food databases and the measurements options for tracking aren’t very consistent. I’m not going to stop tracking my food in the Fitbit app but I am going to double track using the Weight Watchers app.
A few years ago I did Weight Watchers and had the most success. I like how easy it is to track my food and how accurate I’m able to be. It’s so easy you can even scan a bar code and get the nutritional info if you can’t find it. The other great thing about Weight Watchers is the way you can use your points. You get so many to use in a day but you also get a weekly amount that you can decided how to use. That’s perfect for me. I like feeling like I’m still on track even if I have one day with a little bit of a splurge. As long as I keep my overall week in check I should see progress.
The next thing to change is my activity during the week. I’m going to add a daily hike with my husband. One loop is about 2 miles and it’s beautiful! We’ve done a couple of days and I know that it’s going to be great. I will still be doing my Barre3, spin and Body Pump classes but this will be in addition to those.
I love that my husband will be going on these hikes with me. It’s a fun way to spend some quiet time together without all the distractions from our phones. It’s not a busy park so we usually only see a few people, if any, and we have a great time.
I think these changes are going to help make an impact and can’t wait to report back next week. Wish me luck! How did you do this week? Are you making any more changes? Don’t forget to follow along with the hastag #FitFriday!!

I really enjoy your blog. Best of luck on the changes you’re making in your life to be healthier. I lost 70+ pounds 19 years ago. It took a year and a half. No magic tricks here. Just ate less/healthier and moved more. I had struggled with my weight my whole life. Losing that weight and adopting healthier eating habits changed my whole life. At 32 I was in a bikini for the first time. I had muscle definition!! It was an awesome feeling. My trainer at the time told me “nothing tastes as good as being thin feels”. She was right. I’ve maintained a size 2 all these years and workout 6 days a week. As I’m pushing 50 now, has it gotten harder? A little, but I feel and look great for my age. I’m so thankful for the changes I made. It allowed me to be better role model for daughter as she grew up. She was my motivation from the beginning. Hope this helps you and thanks again for the labor of love you put into your blog.
