The kids will feel extra special this Christmas when they get to make their own Pom Pom Ornament! They make fabulous family gifts too!
I love all-things-Christmas, don’t you. And the holidays don’t just bring lots of treats and parties, they also brings ample crafting opportunities!
This year, we’re trying to do a – primarily – handmade Christmas, and this has led to constant creativity and mess-making in our house. One of the most recent crafts that the girls and I have gotten up to is this super-simple (but lovely, nonetheless) pom pom ornament.
This is a craft that doesn’t require many materials – nor a lot of Helicopter Mother action – and results in an ornament that I’m more than happy to pop up on our tree.
To make your own pom-pom ornaments, you will need:
– Clear plastic ornaments (they’re often on sale in the craft stores this time of year)
– Pom-poms in various colours
– Foam stickers
I helped the girls take off the tops of the plastic ornaments and let them choose their “pom-pom colour scheme”. We currently have a Frozen-themed tree in our family room – because I am that crazy mother who can’t help but let Christmas take over – and I chose pom-poms to match.
Once the ornaments were sufficiently stuffed with pom poms, I let the girls choose their sticker and slap it on the front of the ornament.
And voila! The ornament is done! I love that this ornament is child-friendly – as in, easy to do and hard to break – and it’s something that nearly any skill level can tackle.
These plastic ornaments are one of my favourite Christmas crafty-things. I can’t help but pick them up every time I walk through the aisles of a craft store.
There are so many ways to be crafty with the kids at Christmas.
Come check out what we’re up to at Suburble! The kidlets and I have been spending lots of time getting creative with Christmas!
