Holiday confettisprinkles, and/or colored sugar to decorate
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl cream butter, powdered sugar, and salt. Add in eggs and vanilla and eggnog extract (optional). Adding a little at a time beat in flour until all ingredients are mixed together.
Using a cookie press fill the tube with dough and attach the end with your favorite cookie disc. Squeeze the cookie press handle a few times to get the dough to begin to squirt out the end. Then using a rimmed baking sheet begin to press the cookies onto the sheet a few inches apart.
Place in oven and cook for 7 minutes, don't let them brown. Remove cookies and place on a wire baking rack to cool.
In a small bowl mix together powdered sugar and milk to make the glaze. Once cookies are cooled brush each cookie with glaze and top with your favorite candy confetti, sprinkles, or colored sugar. Allow for drying on a cooling rack.
Making the glaze is optional. If you don't want to make the glaze, simply add your toppings to the cookies and then bake them.
