Ingredients
16.3
ounce
refrigerated biscuits
(I used Pillsbury Grands)
Peanut oil for frying
1
cup
powdered sugar
2
tablespoons
milk
1
teaspoon
Caramel Bourbon flavored syrup
Instructions
Heat 2 inches peanut oil in a large pot or Dutch oven to 350 degrees (using a candy thermometer).
Lay the biscuits on a cutting board and, using a 1 1/2-inch round cookie cutter, cut out a hole from the center of each biscuit.
Fry the donuts until they are golden brown on the bottom, then flip them with tongs and continue to fry until browned on the other side.
Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
Meanwhile, whisk together the confectioner's sugar, milk and caramel bourbon syrup in a small bowl to form a glaze.
Once the donuts have cooled slightly, dip each one in the glaze; add sprinkles or chopped nuts.
Place the glazed donuts on a wire rack and allow the glaze to set.
Notes
You can fry the donut holes, too.
