Candy Cane Chocolate Hearts

Still have candy canes staring at you from Christmas? Turn them into a fun Candy Cane Chocolate Heart Valentine's Day gift!

Ingredients

  • White Candy Melts or any type of chocolate
  • 2 candy canes per heart
  • Lolli Pop stick or paper straw
  • Colored sprinkles
  • Wax or parchment paper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350ยบ
  • Lay the wax paper on a cookie sheet and place the candy canes, 2 at a time facing each other to form a heart
  • Place the stick or straw in the center
  • Place in the oven for about 3 minutes, remove and carefully pinch the ends of the candy canes together so that they're touching (careful, they're hot!)
  • Place chocolate or candy melts in a bowl and microwave on high for a minute, stir to soften
  • Gently add the chocolate to the center of the hearts, spreading evenly
  • Decorate with sprinkles
  • Allow to set completely, then carefully remove it from the wax paper with a spatula
