Hawaiian Meatballs

Ingredients

Meatballs:

  • 1 pound beef
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • dash of garlic powder
  • dash of onion powder

Sauce:

  • 1 cup crushed pineapple with juice
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. rice vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp. ginger
  • 1 Tbsp. flour

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Combine all ingredients for the meatballs in a large bowl. Mix everything together until well combined. Roll into 1½ inch balls and place on baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
  • In a medium sauce pan combine all sauce ingredients except for the tablespoon of flour. Bring sauce to a boil. Whisk in the flour and stir until thickened.
  • Serve meatballs over rice and top with sauce.
